Raven’s Teachers, Trainings, and Lineage
my blood is that of the Gullah-Geechee folks stolen from West Africa by US chattel slavery (the Akan, Yoruba, Igbo tribal folks), Chahta and Chikasha Native Turtle Island family, and those native to current Ireland and Scotland (Celtic and Gaelic peoples). I am also from cloud, jungle, and creek. I am made of the wisdom of yarrow, calendula, honey, rose, blue lotus, hibiscus, and damiana. And finally, I come from my Poppy - Fred Brown, my Nanny - Barbara Marley, my Mamama - Rachel Helm, and my Dadada - Lloyd Myers.

Like many modern practitioners, I have an eclectic background of teachers and modalities. Lately, because of my geographical location in Denver Colorado, I have found myself sitting with Curanderas and Curanderos though I am not a formal apprentice of Curanderismo myself I feel it is important to name the profound impact that this specific Indigenous lineage has had on my practice and connection to my own Indigeneity.
